For whatever reason, once NFL OTAs start, some clip of a funky looking drill always seems to find its way onto social media.
This year, one of those creative drills comes courtesy of Doug Pederson the Philadelphia Eagles - the defending Super Bowl champs. The video is a clear illustration of Pederson's sometimes unorthodox approach spilling over to drills.
During a drill for returners, assistant head coach Duce Staley has his guys mulling around in a tight group constantly on the move and bumping into each other before calling out one of their numbers. At that point the player wearing that numbers sorts through the small crowd while having to simultaneously track the ball, catch it, and return it.
The drill may look a bit weird, but it definitely serves its purpose rather creatively.
