South Carolina: Southern University director of strength & conditioning Joshua Lawson has joined the South Carolina strength staff as assistant strength & conditioning coach.

LSU: Louisiana State University is currently accepting applications for 3 2017 Summer volunteer internship positions. Qualified candidates would work with Football, Volleyball, Swimming and Diving, Men’s and Women’s Track and Field, and Baseball. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the LSU Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the Strength and Conditioning program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands on experience training Division I collegiate athletes. This will provide potential candidates with an opportunity for a well-rounded experience working with multiple Division I collegiate sports. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Other preferred qualifications include certification from an accredited organization, previous coaching experience, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. South Carolina:The University of South Carolina is currently accepting applications for volunteer strength & conditioning coaches for the 2017 Summer Semester. Highly motivated and disciplined individuals who want more than the normal ‘intern’ experience are encouraged to apply. The individual will be expected to contribute at a high level from the first day and responsibilities will be dictated by performance and attitude. Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certifications; CPR/AED certification and previous coaching experience at the college level. Hillsdale (D-II - MI): The Hillsdale College Strength & Conditioning Department, a Division II college in the highly competitive GLIAC conference, is currently looking for highly motivated VOLUNTEER intern coaches for the Spring Semester. This position will work directly with all Hillsdale College athletes including but not limited to football, m&w basketball, baseball, softball & more as needed. This is an UNPAID position so candidates need to be passionate about the field & demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Internship duties include but are not limited to: assisting in all aspects of training in compliance with NCAA regulations, daily maintenance of the facility, daily set up and breakdown of the workouts, educational courses/ certification preparation (NSCA/CSCCa/USAW) and professional development. To qualify, candidates should have or be working towards attaining their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field and have or be working towards attaining one of the following certifications: CSCS, SCCC, USAW. Potential candidates must have or be willing to be CPR & First Aid within first month and submit to a background check through the college.
