Yale: Yale Strength and Conditioning is looking for Interns for the Summer 2019 semester. The internship can be used for College credit or CEU's through the NSCA. Along with hands on experience with D1 athletes, there are lectures presented by the staff on all things strength and conditioning, nutrition, program design and interview skills. No previous experience is required but certifications through the NSCA, USAW, SCCC are preferred. This is a non-compensatory position. The application deadline is April 30th. The internship runs from May 27th-August 8th. UTSA: The University of Texas at San Antonio Football Strength and Conditioning program is now accepting applications for Summer 2019 intern candidates. This is a volunteer unpaid position that will be responsible for assisting the UTSA Football Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the Football Summer program. Our intern development program will give you a hands-on experience training Division 1 college football athletes and the tools for future professional opportunities. Required qualifications include: completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Other preferred qualifications include a strength and conditioning certification from an accredited organization, previous coaching experience, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. Official start date will be May 27, 2019 and continue through July 24, 2019 with an opportunity to continue through Fall camp pending performance evaluation. Nova Southeastern: Nova Southeastern University, a member of the NCAA Division II and the Sunshine State Conference located in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is currently accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for Strength & Conditioning. The Graduate Assistant reports directly to the Director of Sports Performance, while working collaboratively as a member of the NSU Sports Medicine Interdisciplinary Team. The position is responsible for assisting the Strength and Conditioning staff in all departmental functions. The successful candidate will have full responsibility of 2-4 teams and will assist with the implementation of strength training, conditioning, speed/agility, flexibility and recovery workouts for all 17 NSU athletic teams. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to complete the CSCCa mentorship program and be eligible to sit for the SCCC certification exam after their 1st year. Qualifications: The GA positions are required to work 20 hours per week, which include flexible hours, evenings and weekends. GA positions work 9-month, renewable contracts. Graduate Assistants must be enrolled at a full time status (6 credits per semester) and be in good academic standing throughout their employment. Applicants must be admitted into their respective graduate program before they can sign a contract through NSU Student Employment. Candidates must be certified with at least one of the following organizations CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), or USAW. Application Deadline: April 30, 2019. Texas: The University of Texas Football Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting Internship applications, for the 2019 Summer Training Program. Responsibilities include assisting the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in all aspects of developing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility, mobility, and recovery protocols for the Football Team. Additional responsibilities will be to provide; daily weight room supervision, daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment, assist with and conduct performance and strength testing, completion of internship curriculum, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Applicants must have a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should be enrolled in or completing their Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be certified in CPR/AED, and working towards certifications from any of the following organizations: NSCA, CSCCa, or USAW. Previous experience in an intercollegiate strength and conditioning program preferred. Position: This is a non-paid internship position. The successful applicant(s) will receive course credit towards graduation (if applicable) and Division I FBS / Big 12 Conference strength and conditioning experience. Fresno State: Fresno State University is accepting applications for VOLUNTEER Intern Coaches to contribute to the strength and conditioning program for the 2019 summer pre-season training period. Qualified candidates will work directly with FOOTBALL, and will have the opportunity to assist in all aspects of training in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an UNPAID opportunity that provides experience assisting the Football Strength and Conditioning Staff with the implementation of individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention, and performance enhancement programs. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong work ethic and character, desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include current CPR/ AED certification, as well as achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science (or related course), and SCCC or CSCS certification. This internship is expected to begin Monday, May 27th, 2019 and end Friday, July 26th, 2019 with the potential to extend the internship into the fall season pending positive evaluation. During the 3-month commitment, interns will receive experience working at the Division 1 level, have the potential to EARN recommendations for future career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable. East Central (OK): East Central University, located slightly over 1 hour southeast of Oklahoma City, 2 hours southwest of Tulsa, and 2 hours from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, is looking to hire a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for the fall of 2019. Must be eligible for Federal Work Study. USAW, CSCS, SCCC, or an equivalent national certification along with CPR/First Aid required. CSCCa internship hours are available under an approved CSCCa mentor. Louisiana Lafayette: Ragin' Cajuns Football is looking to hire 3 VOLUNTEER strength and conditioning interns for the 2019 summer semester with a start date of June 1st. Candidates will receive hands on Division I Intercollegiate experience with an established football program. In addition, candidates can receive college credit towards graduation if applicable and access to continuing education resources, CSCS certification prep, networking opportunities, potential future recommendation for professional advancement and continuing mentorship beyond completion of the internship. Responsibilities: various duties within the football strength & conditioning department including weight room maintenance/cleaning, workout setups, and other duties assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
