Upper Iowa (D-II): Alex Kline has accepted the assistant strength and conditioning and head nutrition coach position at Upper Iowa University. Kline was previously a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Wayne State College (NE).
Wisconsin: The University of Wisconsin Olympic Strength & Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for volunteer interns for Summer 2019. Application deadline Monday, March 4 2019. This is an UNPAID internship position with the potential for course credit for individuals currently enrolled in a degree seeking program. Internship start date for the summer semester will be Monday, May 25 and will be completed on Friday, August 30 or specified by assigned coach. Hours will be determined by facility and team needs but anticipate early mornings, late nights, weekends and possible holiday responsibilities. Qualifications: Currently pursuing, or a recent graduate of, an exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and a strong desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. Preferred qualification: 1-2 years’ of coaching experience within a collegiate strength and conditioning environment and NSCA, USAW or CSCCa certification(s). Individuals will gain knowledge and experience within a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. Individuals will have the opportunity to work within one of our three Olympic weight rooms on campus. Assignments will be based on staffing needs and strengths of the prospective internship candidates. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision and execution of strength and conditioning related training programs for various sports, providing support for technological services, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities, and progression developmental opportunities throughout the internship program. San Jose State: San Jose State University is seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of VOLUNTEER/INTERN in the Athletic Performance Department for Summer term 2019. The capable candidates will have the opportunity to advance their competence while gaining valuable knowledge and experience in the field of Athletic Performance at a Division 1A institution. Responsibilities for the positions include: assist Athletic Performance staff with all daily maintenance and operational duties, involvement in volunteer/intern professional development program, assisting with assigned team training sessions, as well as other duties assigned by the Head Athletic Performance Coach. Required Qualifications: Applicants should have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exercise Science or a related field and working towards CSCS or SCCC. Must have a strong desire to be involved in Athletic Performance at the collegiate level; proficient in Microsoft Excel; excellent communication skills, both oral and written; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; must be diligent and willing to learn; adhere to all University, Mountain West Conference, and NCAA regulations. This position requires a minimum of 30 hours per week.
