Liberty: Liberty University Department of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports is seeking applicants who are highly motivated to fill a G.A. position beginning in July of 2018. This is a paid position where each fiscal year the G.A. will be given $10,000 for tuition as well as a stipend of $12,000 ($1,000/month). The G.A. position is also Mentor Approved for those preparing to complete the required hours for the SCCC certification through the CSCCa organization. G.A.’s play a vital role on staff and will have department responsibilities as well as be included in any and all staff continuing education seminars, summits, clinics, and conferences. While being challenged with the key qualities of success in the Strength and Conditioning field, this position offers the opportunity to gain practical coaching experience in accordance with the philosophy of the department and can begin to lay the groundwork for future opportunities with a consideration for a recommendation for future employment. Team/athlete responsibilities will be negotiated upon hire. Non-Tangible Qualifications: hard work ethic, attention to detail, enthusiasm, effective communication skills, positive energy, and a willingness to work. Tangible Qualifications: Must be CPR/AED/First Aid Certified, have a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or other related fields, and actively hold at least the CSCS or SCCC certification. Winston Salem State: Winston Salem State University Strength and Conditioning Staff is currently accepting applications for Spring 2018 Volunteer Interns. THIS IS AN UNPAID POSITION! Start date will be January 8th and end date will be May 7th . Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for 10 Division II sports, set up and break down for daily training, learning to plan a program, and routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities. Applicants should be working towards or have a degree in kinesiology or a related field and working to towards a CSCS or SCCC certification, as well be CPR/AED certified. Though position is UNPAID, applicants will receive a valuable experience being able to work hands on with NCAA Division II athletes. and a chance for future recommendations. St. Olaf: The Athletic Performance Department at St. Olaf College is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill an unpaid internship position for the Spring semester of 2018. Start date will be February 1 st and concludes on May 15 th , 2018. Interns will gain work experience at the Division III Level, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. CSCCa mentorship program will be available for candidates seeking to obtain the SCCC certification. Daily responsibilities will include the following: 1.) Assisting with supervision and implementation of athletic performance training programs for all sports. 2.) Tending to daily maintenance of the training facility and equipment. This internship is designed to give experience with coaching and responsibility of program design and implementation of 1-2 sports. This internship is designed to professionally develop someone into a candidate that is qualified for an assistant position or a graduate assistant position. This is a non-paid position. Qualifications: Currently pursuing or completed bachelors in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and a strong desire to become a Collegiate level Strength and Conditioning Coach.
