Wisconsin: University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Football Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking highly motivated intern candidates for the 2019 Spring Semester (Mid-January – May 9th, 2019). The Wisconsin strength and conditioning internship program is designed to provide students the opportunity to work with Division I student-athletes and develop the hands-on skills to start a successful career as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. The experience gained during this non-paid internship will be achieved through: 1) Hard Work, the work load will be high, which will ensure that the individual involved and staff gain equal benefit from the internship, as well as allow ample opportunity for the intern to have a realistic experience of the profession. 2) Administrative duties as assigned by the staff – Administrative duties such as setup and daily maintenance will provide experience in the upkeep of the facility. These duties will increase in intensity as initiative and trust is established between all parties involved. 3) Teach proper techniques for Olympic lifts, power lifts, mobility, core, and speed development exercises. 4) Motivating student-athletes to achieve their maximum potential in all areas of performance. 5) Presentation to Strength Staff at end of semester; Presentation will include a brief overview of assigned S&C related book, findings from two-offsite visits taken during semester, and explaining a 52-Week S&C Program developed for Collegiate Football Athletes. Dartmouth: Dartmouth College is seeking VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning/Sports Science interns for the 2019 Winter term starting in January. These individuals will gain valuable experience at the Division 1 collegiate level as well as credit approved by their institution. The internship will involve assisting in: the supervision of training sessions, different training methods, nutrition, learning/executing exercise technique, daily maintenance of equipment, and educational research. Qualifications: Must be working toward certification and exhibit a strong desire to be a strength and conditioning coach. FIU: Florida International University is accepting applications for the position of Intern Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Spring 2019 semester. Newberry: Newberry College Strength and conditioning is seeking applicants for two 8 Month part time Strength and Conditioning Assistant position. Compensation: monthly stipend, plus meal plan, and the possibility of housing. Primary responsibilities include: Assisting with daily Strength and Conditioning operations; Educational projects, program for assigned sports. Maintaining the Strength and Conditioning facility, and consulting with the Athletic Training staff on return to play; and other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Must have a strong work ethic and strong desire to learn and excel in their career as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. Start Date will be January 3rd, 2019. Job Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in an associated field of Study. Must have current Certification through the NSCA or CSCCA. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with programming/internship experience with multiple sports. Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field. NJIT: The NJIT Strength and Conditioning Department is looking for a volunteer assistant/intern strength and conditioning coach for the spring 2019 semester. This position has the possibility of earning a small stipend. This position will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and hands-on experience at the Division 1 level with a variety of sports. The position will also have the opportunity to gain knowledge and work with GPS monitoring and Velocity-Based Training technology. Responsibilities: Assist in all aspects of the strength and conditioning program, as assigned. Requirements: Working toward or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. First Aid/CPR/AED Certified. CSCS or SCCC preferred. Looking to move into a full-time position in strength and conditioning. Experience in a weight room, in collegiate athletics, and/or experience working with collegiate student-athletes. Applied Science and Performance Institute: The ASPI is currently looking for both strength to help with our 2019 NFL Combine and Pro Day Training Program. Located in beautiful Tampa, FL, the Applied Science and Performance Institute is a 21,000 sq. foot state-of-the-art research and performance facility dedicated to bridging the gap between science and application. With over a decade of research and training experience, the ASPI team provides cutting-edge research, training, and education to the masses. The ASPI utilizes the latest research equipment capable of testing the full spectrum of molecular and whole-body changes in both human performance and sports nutrition applications. ASPI's broad base of training clientele includes professional athletes (NFL, MLB, NHL), general population, youth programs and more! DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with strength and conditioning sessions in the set-up, execution, and clean-up. This sometimes requires interns to be present at off-site locations, such as Skyway Field for strength and conditioning sessions. Monitor athletes and general population clients during sessions for proper form, technique, and safety General maintenance of facility and equipment Assist with the cleanliness of training facility, restrooms, fuel bar, etc. Assist with transportation of athletes, agents or other high profile clients upon request. Complete all educational assignments given from intern coordinator, and be prepared for discussions Complete all hours of internship required for school and hours agreed upon with intern coordinator Supporting ASPI system and representing the Institute with integrity and professionalism.
