Oregon State: Mike McDonald has been announced as head football strength coach.
Missouri: Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) is currently offering a strength & conditioning internship. The internship will be for the duration of the Spring 2018 semester starting on January 8 th and ending May 4 th . This internship will be an educational opportunity including the completion of an internship curriculum along with potential for gaining experience working with a variety of teams, utilization of Excel for updating information, maintenance of a collegiate weight room, education in coaching techniques, etc. The selected candidate will receive close supervision in regard to the previous areas of possible experience. The primary goal of the internship will be to provide instruction and training in the field of collegiate strength & conditioning in order to prepare the intern for a career in this field. QUALIFICATIONS: 1) pursuit or possession of a degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or a related field; 2) CPR/AED certification; 3) strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning at the collegiate level; 4) plans to take the CSCS or SCCC exams (or current CSCS or SCCC certification). Minnesota-Duluth: The University of Minnesota Duluth Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting internship application for spring/summer 2018. There are 2 internship positions available to work with the both OLYMPIC Sports and FOOTBALL. Individuals will have the opportunity to gain collegiate coaching experience and work with all sports teams. Candidates must possess or be working towards certification through CSCCa, NSCA, and/or USAW along with having a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Interns will be expected to assist the Strength and Conditioning Staff with the implementation and supervision of all training programs. Interns will also have professional development opportunities through completion of internship curriculum assignments. This is a volunteer position, but individuals may have the opportunity for On-Campus Employment. Interns will gain hands-on experience as well as earn future recommendations for employment. Christopher Newport: Christopher Newport University is seeking highly motivated strength and conditioning interns for the spring 2018 semester. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with the implementation of sport specific programs that incorporate injury prevention, mobility, flexibility, and strength and speed exercises. This is an UNPAID position, school appropriate apparel will be provided. Academic credits can be applied towards an Exercise Science or related Undergraduate or Graduate program. Interns will have every opportunity to grow as a strength coach by learning proper progressions, continuing education through research and hands on coaching. Qualifications: hard work ethic, attention to detail, high energy, Bachelor's degree or in progress of obtaining a Bachelor's degree, have or looking to obtain a certification (CSCS, SCCC and USAW).
