Utah State: Utah State University is currently accepting applications to fill a volunteer football strength and conditioning summer internship. The candidate will work directly with the football strength and conditioning staff, the minimum time frame required is June 3 rd through July 26 th , with the option to extend. As an intern you will be exposed to all aspects of a NCAA Division 1 FBS football program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting with the supervision and implementation and training of the football team, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties, and learning techniques in a wide variety of lifts. The position provides the opportunity to gain valuable experience while working in a dynamic, educational based, and collaborative environment. Qualified candidates: Currently pursuing a bachelors/masters in exercise science or a related field, certified in CPR/AED/First Aid, possess the ability to work in a fast passed environment, have great communication skills, have a growth mindset and are willing to dedicate up to 40 hours per week. Additionally, ideal candidates will be certified or actively pursuing certification from NSCA and/or CSCCa. Interns will receive instruction in, and be required to comply with, NCAA and Utah State University rules, regulations and policies. Marshall: The Marshall University Football Strength and Conditioning Department will begin to accept applications for the 2019 Summer internship program. This program is unpaid no monetary compensation will be provided and will run from May 20th - July 20th. Duties/Responsibilities will include; assisting the strength staff with the set-up, supervision, and breakdown of training sessions. Nutrition distribution and facility upkeep. Preferred qualifications include: strong work ethic, attention to detail, effective communication skills, pursuing a BA/MA in exercise science or related field, and working towards certification through the NSCA/CSCCa. FIU: Florida International University is accepting applications for the position of Intern Strength and Conditioning Coach for Summer 2019. Successful candidates will be working with Football and a variety of Olympic sports. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities along with our intern development program. Weber State: Weber State University, a Division I university member of the Big Sky Conference, is actively seeking applicants for the UNPAID internship program this SUMMER. The internship program will run from MY 16 TH thru July 30 th . Interns will gain practical experience working in a Strength and Conditioning Setting. Over the course of the semester interns can expect to work early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours. As an intern you can expect to assist with all team training sessions. Gain valuable knowledge and experience via, exercise selection/progression/regression, facility management, and professional development assignments. The goal of the internship program is to develop the skills and coaching experience that prepare successful interns for graduate assistant positions at the conclusion of their time in the program. Requirements: Graduate, or Undergraduate students working towards a degree in exercise science or related field. A strong desire to become a Strength and Conditioning Professional at the Collegiate Level, ability to maintain a flexible and demanding schedule, effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Compensation: Academic credit and professional experience only, this is an unpaid internship. Appalachian State: Appalachian State University Department of Athletics seeks highly motivated candidates for an Intern position to assist with implementation and supervision of strength and conditioning programs for men’s basketball. A minimum of one year experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting is required. Experience with Olympic-style lifting, plyometric training and speed development is required. Successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills to teach/motivate a diverse population of student-athletes, interact with support staff and coaches. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in health/fitness, sport science or related field preferred. Candidate must be working toward certification from either the NSCA - CSCS certification examination and/or CSCCa - SCCC certification examination and have a current CPR and first aid certificate. A background in technology and athlete monitoring is preferred. This internship is for individuals who have the goal of being a collegiate strength & conditioning coach, others need not apply. Compensation: Division I Intercollegiate experience, earned recommendation toward further success as a Strength & Conditioning Coach, and college credit toward graduation if applicable. Albany:  The University at Albany Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the summer of 2019. This internship will begin in June (TBA) and will conclude in August of 2019. These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University at Albany Football and all seventeen Olympic Sports. Interns will assist with set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Postgraduate applicants are also required to hold a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA) and all undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled.
