Pepperdine: The Pepperdine strength and conditioning department is seeking applicants for the 2017 Summer Semester Internship Program. After candidate selection, interns will be responsible for weekly presentations to the full-time staff and weekly reading/research assignments. Interns will sit in on weekly staff presentations and participate in hands on sessions directed by the strength staff. The following subject areas will be addressed during your internship: assessing your athletes and pre session readiness, varying models and methods of periodization and programming, resistance training variables, movement classification, Olympic lifting variables, energy system development, power training, linear speed development, and other various topics. Responsibilities for the internship will include session set up/breakdown, cleaning and upkeep of the facility, and working directly with designated student athletes. You must be able to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week. Our goals is to have interns advance in the field of strength and conditioning after completing our internship. If you are serious about becoming a strength and conditioning coach, this internship will help you develop the necessary tools to advance in the field. Please note this is an unpaid internship and we do not offer housing. The internship runs for approximately 2 months 29th May – June 30th. West Virginia State: West Virginia State University is looking for a Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the summer school session, starting May 22nd. The candidate would need a national strength and conditioning certification and would be paid for the summer. Please contact jpennin1@wvstateu.edu for more information.

Valdosta State (D-II - GA): Per source, DeAngelo "DJ" Howard Jr. has been hired as a graduate assistant. Howard is a former intern with the University of Central Florida Sports Performance and the Jacksonville Jaguars Strength and Conditioning.

Christopher Newport: Christopher Newport University is seeking highly motivated strength and conditioning interns for the fall 2017 semester. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with the implementation of sport specific programs that incorporate injury prevention, mobility, flexibility, and strength and speed exercises. This is an UNPAID position, school appropriate apparel will be provided. Academic credits can be applied towards an Exercise Science or related Undergraduate or Graduate program. Interns will have every opportunity to grow as a strength coach by learning proper progressions, continuing education through research and hands on coaching. Qualifications: hard work ethic, attention to detail, high energy, Bachelor's degree or in progress of obtaining a Bachelor's degree, have or looking to obtain a certification (CSCS, SCCC and USAW).
