Notre Dame: The University of Notre Dame Sports Performance Department is accepting applications for a volunteer football intern for Winter/Spring 2017. This position offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in the supervision and training of Notre Dame’s Division I football program; assist with daily administrative, cleaning and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Minimum Qualifications: must have a strong work-ethic, enthusiasm and a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW and CPR –First Aid certification. South Dakota State: South Dakota State University, is accepting applications for qualified, highly motivated Graduate Assistants in Strength and Conditioning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting in design and implementation of strength & conditioning programs for assigned sports; provide proper instruction for safe and effective lifting techniques and equipment usage; supervise weight room day-to- day activities and conduct periodic performance & strength testing; communicate regularly with sport coaches and sports medicine personnel. Qualifications: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in sports sciences or related field/major, CPR certification and be certified through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) or National Strength & Conditioning Association (CSCS). In order to be awarded the position the candidate must be admitted to graduate school at South Dakota State University. Compensation includes tuition waiver and stipend. Previous strength coaching experience preferred. Previous athletic experience preferred. Experience teaching the Olympic lifts preferred. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access strongly recommended. Consideration will be given to individuals who possess strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with integrity. The position will begin May 22 nd 2017.
