North Carolina: The University of North Carolina Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for the FALL 2017 Athletic Development Internship Program. This is an unpaid position. Start date: AUGUST 7TH End Date DECEMBER 15TH . Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Intern qualifications include: Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field; SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certification; CPR certification and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Interns will receive experience working in a Division I environment, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Wake Forest University: The Wake Forest University Sports Performance department is currently accepting internship applications for the 2017-2018 academic year. There are 2 internship positions available to work with the OLYMPIC Sports programs. Individuals will have the opportunity to gain Division I experience and work with all Olympic Sports teams. The right candidate(s) will be able to work towards completion of CSCCa internship requirement and sit for the CSCCa certification exam. All applicants must have completed or are currently pursuing bachelors or masters degree in Exercise Science or related field. Candidates must possess or be working towards certification through CSCCa, NSCA, and/or USAW and have strong work ethic and desire to become strength and conditioning professional. Interns will have the opportunity to assist the Sports Performance staff with the implementation and supervision of all training programs for Olympic Sports teams. Interns will also have professional development opportunities through completion of internship curriculum assignments. This is a volunteer position, but individuals will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience as well as earn future recommendation for employment.
