South Florida: University of South Florida Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for 2 Strength and Conditioning Intern Coaches starting on May 20 th , 2019. This is an UNPAID position; however, this opportunity offers a valuable professional recommendation for advancement in the field of strength & conditioning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the daily implementation of off-season training for the USF Football team, set-up and breakdown of daily strength and conditioning training sessions, routine maintenance, cleaning and organization of the training facility, data collection, as well as participation in an internship curriculum. Interns will also have the opportunity to assist in the design and implementation of various Olympic Sports training programs. Southern University: Southern University is currently accepting applications for 2-3 VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT STRENGTH COACH INTERNS. This internship is designed to be the most hands on in the nation; responsibilities include assisting with Football, being in control of 1-2 Olympic Sports, and participating in the continuing education curriculum. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled. Position will provide on campus housing and meal plan. Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree, current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications, willingness to work a demanding and varying schedule, and effective leadership skills. Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor’s or Master’s in a relevant field, certifications from recognized organizations (NSCA, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous Strength & Conditioning coaching experience, and/or previous experience as a collegiate athlete. Villanova: Villanova University is currently accepting applications for one paid intern to work primarily with football. The internship will begin June 2019 and run for 10 months. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division 1 S&C environment specifically with the FOOTBALL team. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; a strong work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, effective communication and leadership skills, certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.) as well as previous intern or coaching experience. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in a related field. Responsibilities will include assisting with football or Olympic team training sessions, weekly professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff. Western Michigan: Western Michigan University Olympic Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for INTERN/VOLUNTEER coach positions for the FALL 2019 semester. No prior experience is necessary. Daily responsibilities will include assisting with the supervision and implementation of performance training programs for Olympic sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training equipment, and completion of the internship education curriculum. Interns must be able to commit a minimum of 25 hours per week. Required qualifications include: strong work ethic and character, high interest in the field, passion to learn, punctuality, group speaking & communication skills, and strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include: achievement or current pursuit of a bachelor degree in exercise science, physiology, kinesiology, or exercise related field, SCCC or CSCS certification, and previous experience in a strength and conditioning program, coaching internship experience or collegiate athletics experience is preferred.
