Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr is known to take some cutting edge, and sometimes unconventional, approaches to coaching his team.
Last night, during their game against the Suns, Steve Kerr did something a lot of coaches only dream of having the players in place to do.
As coaches, many of us talk about having a player-led team, and Kerr and his staff pushed that into action by effectively handing off the coaching duties during game time to his players, which included handing off the clipboard during timeouts, to his players.

After the game - a 129-83 win - Kerr explained why he decided on the approach.
For football programs, leaving players to themselves during timeouts may seem extreme, but there are certainly ways to work this type of approach into their program from giving leaders time to address the team at halftime or pregame to upperclassmen leading some off season workouts.
