Stephen Field is set to join Miami's staff as tight ends coach, sources told FootballScoop on Thursday.
Field had joined Louisville's staff less than two weeks ago as the Cardinals' recruiting director. He spent the 2018 campaign as Oregon's director of recruiting, and 2017 as director of high school relations at Louisville. Field was Florida A&M's tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator in 2016.
Field's recent travels are a testament to his value in college football recruiting, specifically in one area: South Florida.
A West Palm Beach native, Field deposited assistant coaching stints at Deerfield Beach and Glades Central and, after a foray in college coaching, served as the head coach at Miami Northwestern and North Marion, where he won multiple coach of the year honors in 2015.
This will not be Field's first tour of service at Miami; he was a defensive staff assistant and special teams coordinator at The U from 2006-08.
In joining Manny Diaz's staff, Field gains the opportunity to coach his own position -- at the preeminent university in his home town.
As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
