Brian VanGorder will be Louisville's defensive coordinator, sources told FootballScoop on Saturday.
VanGorder is a veteran of college and the NFL, coordinating defenses previously at Notre Dame, Auburn, Georgia and for the Atlanta Falcons, among others. He spent the 2017 season as a defensive analyst at Oklahoma State. He was in line to join the on-the-field staff as a defensive assistant had he remained in Stillwater for a second season.
He replaces Peter Sirmon, who was not retained after one season. He now holds a similar role at California.
As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
