San Francisco 49ers: Broncos director of college scouting Adam Peters will interview for the player personnel director job in San Francisco, per Mike Florio.
Houston Texans: The Texans have hired Wes Welker as an offensive and special teams assistant. They've also hired Bobby King as linebackers coach; he previously served on staff from 2011-13.
UCLA: Quality control assistant James Thomson has been named head coach at Northview High School in Georgia.
New Orleans Saints: Former Niners head coach Mike Nolan has joined the staff as linebackers coach, according to Nick Underhill of The Advocate.
Cincinnati: Former Purdue interim head coach Gerad Parker has been named running backs coach on Luke Fickell's staff.
Wofford: Jon Wheeler has been announced as outside linebackers coach. Wheeler is a 2005 Wofford graduate.
Malone University (D-II): Former Lindenwood offensive line coach Brice Carlson will be the new offensive line coach at Malone source tells FootballScoop.

Cincinnati: Luke Fickell will make an average annual salary of $2.2 million over the course of his 6-year deal, according to contract details obtained by Fox 19. Fickell will make $1.9 million his first season, a figure that will increase to $2.4 million in the final three years of his deal and has the opportunity to earn $250k for a New Years Day Bowl Appearance, $75k for a bowl appearance, $25k for a bowl win, and $10k for an 8 win season, and an additional $10k for each win after that capping at 12 wins equal to $50k. Last year's assistant coaches salary pool was set at $2.14 million, and Fickell's deal calls for a salary pool of $2.5 million. Fickell's buyout by the university if he were terminated before December 1, 2017 would be $11 million, dropping to $9.1 million if before the same date in 2018, $7.1 million by 2019, $4.8 million by 2020, $2.4 million by 2021, $1.2 million by 2022, and drops to $0 after December 1, 2022. If Fickell leaves for another program, he would owe $3.5 million if he left before December 21, 2017, with that figure dropping $500k each year that follows until December 31, 2022 when he'd owe $750k and then $0 after December 31, 2022
Scoop Him Up: Tommy Restivo was the defensive coordinator for the 2016 McNeese State Cowboys, where he also worked with the safeties. Before joining MSU, he was the defensive coordinator and secondary coach at South Carolina State University (2014-2015). Coach Restivo's defenses were ranked in the top 5 in 8 categories. He also coached Javon Hargrave, who was a 3rd round draft pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Prior to SCSU, Restivo was a secondary coach at the University of Louisville under head coach, Charlie Strong. He coached Calvin Pryor, a 1st round draft pick for the New York Jets. Louisville's defense was a top 5 ranked defense in most FBS categories. In 2010-2011, he was a quality control coach working with linebackers and defensive line. Iowa State: Former Illinois head strength coach Aaron Hillman is joining the Iowa State staff as director of player development. Prior to serving as head strength coach at Illinois from 2012-2015, Hillman previously served as a strength coach at Michigan, Bowling Green, Notre Dame, Connecticut, Cincinnati and Ball State.

Toledo: Hank Poteat (CBs) and Mike Bellamy (WRs) have formally been announced as new members of Jason Candle's staff at Toledo. Bellamy spent last season at Mississippi State and the four seasons before that at Illinois, and Poteat was the corners coach at Kent State the past two seasons.

Guardian Caps: Guardian Caps are helping interior, power position players by addressing the buildup of all the daily blows in practice. Coaches are implementing the padded external helmet covers for 9-on-7/inside run to pad blows to heads, knees, hands, etc. Used by the reigning champ Clemson Tigers for the past 3 years, Guardian Caps can be a great way to mitigate practice blows, protect helmet damage, and keep participation numbers high.

Chadron State (D-II): Chadron State College is seeking applicants for a defensive coaching assistant. A candidate with DB playing or coaching experience is preferred. Notre Dame: Brian Kelly noted today during his presser that offensive coordinator Chip long will also work with the tight ends. Kelly adds that Mike Elston will move from linebackers back to defensive line (where he spent his first five seasons with the Irish) and that all other returning coaches will stay in their current positions. Tommy Rees' official role is that of a graduate assistant, but Kelly noted that he will be the quarterbacks coach and have full duties in that respect.
Indiana Wesleyan (NAIA): Evan Knight is joining the Jordan Langs' staff as defensive coordinator, per source/ Knight has spent the last two seasons coaching the linebackers at St. Francis (FCS - PA).
Charleston Southern (FCS - SC): New Mexico State special teams coordinator Zane Vance is expected to join the Charleston Southern staff as defensive coordinator source tells FootballScoop. Vance served as defensive coordinator for the Aggies for the 2015 season.

Rex Ryan: ESPN has signed Rex to work Super Bowl Sunday on NFL Sunday Countdown from 11am -2pm reports SportsBusinessDaily's John Ourand. Ourand adds "ESPN says the deal only covers Super Bowl Sunday, but it clearly makes ESPN a front-runner to sign Ryan to a longer deal if he's unable to find a coaching job he likes."
