LSU / A&M fight: Oh, this is rich. SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said today that while he is very disappointed with what happened, he expects the schools to punish the relevant people; the league itself will not be taking action. Sankey said he is confident Joe Alleva and Scott Woodard "will take appropriate disciplinary action" but added that he will not publicly disclose any punishments handed down by the programs. Maryland: ESPN reporter Adam Rittenberg writes today that Maryland will hold interviews Sunday or Monday with AD Damon Evans and University President Wallace Loh. As we wrote earlier this week, this is Mike Locksley's job if all goes well. If not, Matt Canada is well positioned. Rittenberg notes either three or four candidates will interview. Emily Giambalvo of the WaPo adds that Michigan passing game coordinator Pep Hamilton will also interview. Pep is from the area and played at Howard.
North Carolina: Auburn running backs coach Larry Porter is a candidate to join Mack Brown's staff reports Brandon Marcello.
William & Mary (FCS - VA): Howard running backs coach EJ Barthel has followed Mike London to William & Mary.
Alabama State (FCS): Source tells FootballScoop head coach Donald Hill-Eley is making wholesale changes to his staff. Sources tell FootballScoop all of his coordinators and the full offensive staff have been let go.
Texas Tech: Source tells FootballScoop Matt Wells has offered positions at Texas Tech to his entire offensive staff. On the defensive side of the ball Keith Patterson will serve as defensive coordinator and we are told defensive backs coach Julius Brown is coming as well. For special teams, sources tell FootballScoop Wells has targeted Purdue special teams coordinator Mark Tommerdahl. Tommerdahl coached with Wells at Utah State for the 2017 season. Tommerdahl has 34 seasons coaching experience including at Cal, LA Tech, ULM, Texas A&M, Alabama, TCU & more. Source tells us Wells is awaiting a decision from Tommerdahl.
Albion (D-III - MI): In addition to a defensive coordinator hire (see below), new head coach Dustin Beurer has announced the promotion of quarterbacks coach Stephen Wasil to offensive coordinator. Prior to his promotion to head coach, Beurer served as offensive coordinator. Also, defensive backs coach Justin Sweeney has added special teams and recruiting coordinator duties, and receivers coach Tino Smith II has been promoted to a full-time position and will continue working with the receivers.
Stephen F. Austin (FCS - TX): Arkansas associate head coach and running backs coach Jeff Traylor has withdrawn his name from consideration for the SFA job and is staying at Arkansas, per Richard Davenport.
ACC Network: ACC Network will launch on Aug. 22, 2019 and air its first football game a week later, a Thursday night affair between Clemson and Georgia Tech in Death Valley.
UAB: Bill Clark has singed a contract extension taking him through 2023-2024 football season where he will initially make $1.45 million annually before eventually rising to $1.65 million. The new compensation makes him the highest paid coach in C-USA. In his three seasons leading the program Clark has made a bowl in all three seasons, and is 17-8 overall and 13-3 in conference play since the UAB program returned in 2017. Clark's most recent deal had him set to make $900k next season.
North Carolina: After introducing him as UNC's defensive coordinator in and around the football building, Mack Brown has reportedly backpedaled on hiring Greg Robinson. Details here.
North Carolina: The addition of Dre Bly (corners), Tim Brewster (assistant head coach / tight ends) and Tim Cross (DL) are have been officially announced. Cross joins the staff from Air Force, where he was the assistant head coach and defensive line coach, and previously worked with both Mack Brown and Greg Robinson. In addition, Tommy Thigpen has been retained and has been elevated to co-defensive coordinator and will continue to coach the safeties (as we reported yesterday).
Utah State: Athletic director John Hartwell noted that they will employ a search firm in a search for their new head coach, and that they plan to have someone in place in 10-14 days, according to Alex Vejar.
Texas Tech: Matt Wells told athletic director John Hartwell that he wants to bring his entire offensive staff from Utah State with him to Lubbock, per Alex Vejar.
Texas State: Jake Spavital's contract will be five years at $800,000 per year. Everett Withers made $700,000 in 2018.

Albion (D-III - MI): Sources tell FootballScoop that Albion has hired Mark Sheridan to be their new defensive coordinator. Sheridan is an Albion alum that previously coached as a defensive graduate assistant at Purdue and Arkansas and coached the linebackers at Central Arkansas (FCS) last season.
FAU: Multiple members of Lane Kiffin's staff have received a contract extension. Running backs coach Kevin Smith, tight ends coach Clint Trickett, defensive line coach Eric Mathies, and corners coach Keynodo Hudson have all received contract extensions taking them through December of 2019, according to The Palm Beach Post. The article adds two them received significant pay bumps, including Smith who went from making $85k in year one to $115k last season, and Hudson went from $85k to $125k. Meanwhile, Trickett's salary rose from $60k to $65k and Mathies made $210k this year.
Utah State: Co-defensive coordinator / associate head coach / defensive line coach Frank Maile will lead the team in they bowl game.
West Virginia State (D-II): Per source, Brice Carlson has been hired to coach the offensive line after previously coaching the offensive line at Southwest Baptist (D-II - MO).
Tennessee: Former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze has interviewed for the offensive coordinator job, Pete Thamel tweets this morning. Several other outlets in Tennessee have shared the same. Freeze is currently scheduled to serve as the offensive coordinator for the Arizona Hotshots of the new Alliance of American Football league.

Nichols (D-III - MA): Per source, head coach Dale Olmsted has made some adjustments to his staff. Offensive line coach / special teams coordinator Brad Watkins will move to defensive coordinator / defensive line coach and quarterbacks coach / pass game coordinator Zach Shaw will be the new offensive coordinator.

West Virginia: Athletic director Shane Lyons shared a statement stating that he won't get into the various reports connecting Dana Holgorsen to other head coaching jobs, and went on to note that "Holgorsen and I have had great conversations this week, and he has made it very clear to me that he wants to be the head football coach at West Virginia University." Back in December of 2016 Holgo agreed to a contract extension keeping him in Morgantown through the 2021 season.
