How often do you let your GAs and support staffers address the whole team? (Ohio State)

Head coaches are always conscious of their players tuning them out. Hear one voice over and over and over again, and eventually it will happen. They'll often bring in outside experts, whether it be former players, motivational speakers, or speakers carrying cautionary tales. Our archives are packed full of examples.

But there is a wealth of knowledge and experience on each staff, from the coordinators on down. As shown here, Urban Meyer closed a Cotton Bowl practice by allowing assistant running backs coach Trey Holtz -- son of Skip, grandson of Lou -- to address the team.

In addition to being a good message from a new voice, this opportunity provided invaluable experience for a young coach in Holtz.
