Sources have told FootballScoop that Brandon Lawson will join UCF's staff as director of player personnel.
In his role assisting Josh Huepel to build the Knights' roster, Lawson will have to remain calm as he analyzes what's ahead of him to make pressure-packed decisions and remain attentive to the needs of the VIPs he interacts with. To do that, Lawson can draw on the experience he gained in his previous jobs, as director of recruiting at Eastern Kentucky and director of player personnel at Middle Tennessee.
But he can also draw back even further, to the time he served as the crew chief on Marine One during the George W. Bush administration.
