"Everybody acts like football is like life. It is not like life." (joe moglia)

At one point or another, we're all guilty of using the phrase "football is like life." Most all of us believe that there is a lot of truth in that statement, but Coastal Carolina head coach Joe Moglia is not in that camp.

Moglia shared an interesting perspective on that belief so many of us share during a session in front of journalists at their league media day.

"Everybody acts like football is like life. It is not like life. Football is a game. It's an important game, and if we don't win I'll get fired. It is a game. It's a game."

"At the end of the day, there are so many things going on in the world, not just about politics, but there are so many things going on in the world that I would want my children to know, and I want my players to know. If I feel so strongly about that, why wouldn't I take some real time to let our guys know that?"

"The single biggest threat to the globe today is terrorism," Moglia goes on to explain with zest. "Don't you think that's something that your football players should absolutely know?"

Moglia, who you may remember got into coaching after making millions as the CEO of TD Ameritrade, goes on for a good bit beyond that about how important it is to educate kids about life and current events. It's really something to hear and soak in.
