To the victors got the spoils. Lots and lots of spoils.
Clemson revealed to the Associated Press Thursday the full list of bonuses paid for winning the ACC and College Football Playoff championship runs.
Leading the list, of course, was Dabo Swinney. The head coach took home a total of $1.45 million in bonuses this season, in addition to his $4.4 million salary. Look at it this way: Dabo earned more in bonuses than Tracy Claeys, Bryan Harsin, Matt Rhule and dozens of others earned in total salaries, according to the USA Todaycoaching salary database.
The AP also reports each of Dabo's nine on-field assistants took home $95,000 in extra pay, along with head strength coach Joey Batson and associate AD for football administration Woody McCorvey.
Four more staffers earned bonuses of at least $70,000, brining the full staff total to $2.8 million. That's more than Indiana, Oregon State, West Virginia, Colorado and lots more Power 5 programs paid their assistant coaches for the entire season.
