A ruling is not expected in Michigan's pursuit of a temporary restraining order on Saturday, which means Jim Harbaugh will miss No. 3 Michigan's game with No. 10 Penn State. Offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore will serve as acting head coach for the day. The game kicks at noon local time and will air on Fox.
On Friday, the Big Ten suspended Harbaugh for all three of Michigan's remaining regular-season games, beginning Saturday. Michigan will attempt to utilize the legal system to overturn the suspension, a strategy that began with filing a TRO late Friday night.
The TRO hearing will be this coming Friday, per multiple reports, which means Harbaugh could potentially coach next week's game at Maryland.
โWe look forward to presenting our case next week where we intend to demonstrate that the Big Ten has not acted legally or fairly," Michigan said in a statement on Saturday.
The ruling came down while Michigan was in flight to State College. Harbaugh made the trip with the team and addressed the Wolverines on Friday night. Fox cameras did not spot Harbaugh as the team disembarked from its team buses upon arrival at Beaver Stadium Saturday morning, so Harbaugh will presumably watch the game from the team hotel.
The non-decision means this will be the fourth of Michigan's 10 games to date that Harbaugh has missed. He served a self-imposed 3-game suspension to begin the season for a separate NCAA investigation.
