Chicago Bears: After seriously considering a move to the suburbs, the Bears released renderings today for a plan to honor 100-year old Soldier Field and build a multi-billion dollar stadium (and accompanying campus) on the shores of Lake Michigan.
Gardner Webb (FCS - NC): Sources tell FootballScoop Pete Bennett has joined the staff as special teams coordinator. Bennett had served as special teams coordinator at North Carolina Central the past two seasons and has also served at Memphis, South Alabama and Central Arkansas.
Texas A&M: In his first major order of business, new Aggies AD Trev Alberts has laid off a number of high-level staffers.
Chicago Bears: Assistant GM Ian Cunningham has signed a contract extension, per Adam Schefter.
Heisman Trophy: Reggie Bush is reportedly set to get the 2005 Heisman back.
Campbell (FCS - NC): Campbell has hired a new defensive line coach with NFL and FBS experience.
Rice: Lauren Cherry has accepted the director of recruiting operations role for the program.
Akron: Akron is looking for an On-Campus Recruiting Graduate Assistant. This position includes a $7000 stipend and covers tuition of a graduate program. Responsibilities include handling on-campus recruiting responsibilities, recruiting communications, player development responsibilities such as community service for the team, and assisting with social media accounts. The previous GA in this position went on to a full-time position at a Power 5 program. Carroll (D-III - WI): Carroll University is looking to hire a restricted earnings coach. Position includes a competitive stipend and you get to coach your own position. Air Force: The school has signed head coach Troy Calhoun to a contract extension through 2029. He will enter his 18th season as head coach of the program this fall with a record of 130-82 overall and a 77-54 mark in Mountain West play. Over the last four full seasons Calhoun is 40-12 overall.
Akron: Per source, CJ Edwards has been hired as an offensive analyst for the Zips. He previously spent time as an offensive coordinator at Walsh (Sprint - OH) and also has stops coaching the running backs at Mount Union and Lake Erie College (D-II - OH).
Marist (FCS - NY): The Marist College Football program is looking to fill a volunteer Defensive Assistant position. The selected candidate would be a countable on field coach at the Division 1 level and could earn an internal promotion to a paid position during their tenure. The position will be responsible for a range of tasks, including on the road recruiting, managing a recruiting area, assisting in position meetings opponent breakdowns, self-scout, playbook creation, and video coordination. The position will also assist the Head Coach, DC, and/or DFO with administrative tasks as assigned. Previous experience coaching and/or playing is preferred, but not necessary.
