How U of Albany Teaches its Cross-Dog Pressure Pattern From Hot Coverage: If you watched any FCS football this season, you’d bear witness to how dominant the University of Albany (NY) defensive unit was this fall. The Great Danes surrendered a mere 87 yards rushing per contest, despite playing 15 games. It was the lowest output in that amount of games since James Madison in 2019. Defensive coordinator Bill Nesselt knew the strength of his unit was his two All-CAA bookends, so he designed the majority of his run fits to box the ball between them. It was the Danes’s top pressure this season and was utilized in every down and distance and any field zone. Read more.
