Kansas: In an email to donors sent Thursday night, Kansas AD Travis Goff said he will begin a national search for the next KU head coach. Current head coach Emmett Jones is a candidate for the job and Goff and Jones met today.
Recruiting: The dead period is officially ending after 16 months, and that's not all. Major changes coming to recruiting this summer.
Transfers: The NCAA transfer rule is one step from becoming officially official.
NFL: The fight between the NFL and its players over in-person offseason work is becoming more interesting by the day.

Howard Payne (D-III - TX): The Yellow Jackets have announced Kevin Bachtel as their new defensive coordinator. He was formerly the head coach at Edgewood High School in Texas.
Long Island (FCS): Long Island University has an opening for an unpaid graphics intern. Your responsibilities would be to regularly produce social media content for the football team throughout the year. You would gain valuable experience with a Division 1 football program, plus room for growth depending on the candidate's areas of expertise. Penn State: Reflecting on how getting back to the road recruiting this summer is going to change a lot of things James Franklin shares: "There are two ends of recruiting, but only one gets focused on."
New Mexico State: Kevin Maurice has accepted the inside receivers and tight ends position at New Mexico State, sources tell FootballScoop. Maurice, who earlier in his career served as director of player personnel at Purdue and had stints at Cincinnati, Miami and Nevada, would go on to coach running backs at North Dakota three seasons and the past four seasons has coached running backs at Eastern Washington. Lenoir-Rhyne (D-II – NC): Lenoir-Rhyne University is looking for a 2021 Week 2 opponent. Interested programs should please contact Vice President of Athletics, Kim Pate at kim.pate@lr.edu.
Colorado School of Mines (D-II): Colorado School of Mines has an opening for tight ends coach. In addition to coaching responsibilities, position requires proficiency with Hudl, Excel, PowerPoint, and various computer programs. Duties will begin 8/1 and end 12/31. Stipend is $1,000 per month. The job is best suited for local candidates (Denver area) or coach who can provide own housing. This is a great opportunity for a young coach to get experience at the collegiate level. Southwest Minnesota State (D-II): SMSU Football is seeking 2 graduate assistant football coaches; DL and DB . These positions are responsible for developing our student-athletes on and off the field, run own position meetings, assist with special teams, and have own recruiting area. Must have be extremely motivated, and accepted into one of our competitive graduate programs (3.0 minimum GPA). Big 12: Following the NCAA’s move to eliminate the year-in-residence rule, the Big 12 has reportedly eliminated its own rule requiring intra-conference transfers to sit. What that means for Lincoln Riley, Gary Patterson and Chad Morris.
Concord (D-II - WV): Concord is looking for a defensive graduate assistant that will be starting in Summer 2021. Candidates need to have playing or coaching experience. Candidates need to be proficient in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Hudl. Weight room coaching experience is preferred as well. Virginia Lynchburg (NCCAA): Virginia University of Lynchburg is currently seeking Assistant Football Coaches, including Defensive Coordinator and all position coaches. We are looking for Graduate Assistants and athletic interns too. These positions include a stipend and there is potential for housing on campus as Dorm Advisors. Experience playing and coaching is preferred. Responsibilities include all aspects of the football program, including practice organization, academic support and recruiting.
