How Healthy Is Your Program’s Culture? X&O Labs spent the last year researching the culture of over 40 football programs—such as North Carolina, Navy, Iowa, LSU, Arizona State among others. It is through this research they have identified the six behaviors needed for player-driven culture. Player-driven culture is widely considered the healthiest form of culture. The head coach is responsible for creating the standards, but the players make the decision to own and protect those standards. “It will be the programs that have learned to be completely player-driven that will thrive,” said Mike Kuchar, X&O Labs’ Senior Researcher. “Because they are the ones that can quickly adjust, pivot and manage themselves with little influence from anyone else.” X&O Labs has published this entire study in a 246-page book, The Player Driven Culture System: A Study of the Six Behaviors That Create and Sustain Player-Ownership of Football Programs. To learn more about this study and how to get a copy of the book, go here for study details.
South Carolina: The Gamecocks are working on finalizing a deal with their new defensive coordinator, per report.
