Boundary First Reads: How Idaho's Gevani McCoy became FCS' Top Frosh: Like many programs, Idaho separates its pass game into field and boundary concepts. And when new Idaho head coach Jason Eck took over the program he understood he was turning the keys to his offense over to a rookie quarterback and first-year coordinator. So, the Vandals relied on constructing two key elements in the pass game: quicker reads and shorter throws for maximum efficacy. As it turns out, these boundary build-ins produced astronomical numbers for the nation’s top Frosh and Jerry Rice Award winner QB Gevani McCoy. Idaho offensive coordinator Luke Schleusner details the boundary smash, boundary sail and boundary out designs that have produced a combined completion rate of over 71% for McCoy this season. See it here.
