Ed Orgeron announced the hire of Daronte Jones as his new defensive coordinator today.
The defensive backs coach with the Vikings agreed to a two year deal, worth $1.3 million per year.
In addition, Jones will receive a $150,000 incentive payment up front.
His incentive package (see below) maxes out at $75,000 in total potential per year.
With Jones on board, Orgeron is moving quickly to hire a new linebackers coach as well as a new defensive line coach. We would not expect it to take nearly as long to fill these two positions.
