Kent State: Kent State University is seeking applicants for the position of Sports Performance Graduate Assistant. Responsibilities include direct oversight of training 2-3 Olympic sports as assigned and assist with football. This individual will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology including VALD ForceDecks, Perch, and ArenaGear timing gates. Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field, CSCS or CSCCa Certified, and CPR/AED certified. Must be accepted into Graduate School at Kent State University. Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan University’s Sports Performance Department is seeking highly motivated internship candidates for the fall of 2024. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Sports Performance setting. Responsibilities: Assist with supervision and coaching of training sessions for all sports as assigned, Weight Room Management Duties. Set up and break down of training sessions. Providing a positive training atmosphere for the student-athletes. Routine maintenance of facility Successful completion of Internship Curriculum: Frequent technology administration and data transferring (Force Plates, Velocity Based Training Systems, & GPS). Any other duties as assigned by the staff. Interns are required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Requires long hours standing, sitting, walking, running, jumping, and other physical activity Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be flexible to frequently changing work hours Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors or masters degree in exercise science, sport management, or related field Certified in or pursuing CPR/First Aid, A strong desire to become a Sports Performance Coach. Plans to pursue a nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification through either the National Strength and Conditioning Association or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association Compensation: Opportunity to earn professional references towards future career opportunities.
