Saint Vincent (D-III - PA): Saint Vincent College seeks an assistant Strength and Conditioning coach. Must be certified. Additional duties as assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. Yale: Yale Sports Performance is seeking qualified candidates to fill available internship positions for the Fall 2020 semester. This internship includes a classroom lecture component as well as rigorous hours in the weight room alongside full-time coaches for hands on experience. Students will not only gain the knowledge of program design and theory, nutrition, athletic testing, and leadership, but also have the chance to apply what they have learned in a practical setting with Division I athletes. Yale Athletics is home to 34 varsity teams, allowing the interns to work with a variety of sports. This includes the #17th ranked 2019 Ivy League Championship Football team, the 2018 National Championship Men's Lacrosse team, as well as the 11 time Women’s Volleyball Ivy League Champions. The goal of this internship is to give interns the necessary tools to obtain jobs within the strength and conditioning field. The hours will closely resemble that of a full time strength and conditioning coach. This is an unpaid internship, but hours can be used towards academic credits for college. It is also an NSCA accredited continuing education site. You will receive 2 continuing education units (CEU’s) upon completion. The ideal prospective candidate would be a current or recently graduated college student. Preference will be given to those who have studied Exercise Science, however all professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Additional considerations will be given to those who have an athletic or coaching background, as well as those who are eager to gain experience coaching in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting. Mississippi Valley State: Mississippi Valley State University, a NCAA I institution which competes in the South Western Athletic Conference (SWAC), invites applications for the position of Student-Athlete Health & Wellness - Graduate Assistant Coach. MVSU sponsors 15 NCAA intercollegiate athletic teams and approximately 300 student athletes. Candidates must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. The program is designed to provide each participant with a holistic and valuable practical experience in the field of Strength and Conditioning. The placement will involve a number of the following duties & responsibilities: Assist the Student-Athlete Health & Wellness Coordinator in the day to day operations of the facility and provide assigned teams and student-athletes with programs/training that is up to date, attend weekly training seminars, teach athletes proper technique and perform diagnostic biomechanical analysis of an athlete’s movement, assist with supervision of the weight-room (equipment maintenance and cleaning, exercise supervision, safety issues etc.), program design & responsibility for 1 - 3 assigned sports teams, assist with the input of test data, research, and testing, and discussion of professionalism, budgets, weight room safety and set-up. The position is 10 months; beginning August 1st through May 30th annually (dates will vary based on the academic calendar). The position will cover graduate courses. Qualifications:Potential candidates must have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. All candidates must be enrolled for the 2020 Fall Semester and maintain satisfactory progress towards degree completion to maintain the position. Required: Undergraduate degree in related strength and conditioning field; 1 – 2 years coaching experience, in the weight room, is preferred. Applicant should hold, or be working towards, a Strength and Conditioning Certification from one of the following organizations: NSCA – CSCS, CSCCa - SCCC, and must be up to date on CPR/AED certification.
