Florida State: Florida State University OLYMPIC Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for interns for the FALL 2020 academic semester. This is a volunteer, UNPAID, position and offers Division I hands-on coaching experience in an educational environment and the opportunity for future recommendations or opportunities in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the OLYMPIC Strength and Conditioning staff; set-up and breakdown of sessions; cleaning and upkeep of facility; spotting and working with specified student-athletes and/or small groups; assist with daily administrative and maintenance duties; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Minimum Qualifications: must have a strong work-ethic, enthusiasm, a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach, and able to work 30 hours/week. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA - CSCS; CSCCA - SCCC; USAW and CPR/First Aid certification. The University at Albany: The University at Albany Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the fall of 2020. This internship will begin August 5th and will conclude in December of 2020. These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University at Albany Football and all seventeen Olympic Sports. Interns will gain hands on experience in a Division 1 setting, assist with set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Postgraduate applicants are also required to hold a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA) and all undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. Stephen F. Austin: SFA Sports Performance is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant to begin August 3, 2020Under the general direction of the Director of Sports Performance, assist the Sports Performance staff in the athletic development of student-athletes. Responsibilities include directing the training of student-athletes in 2-3 assigned sports and assisting other sports as needed. Other responsibilities include facility operations and administrative duties assigned by the Director. Maintain collaborative working relationships with administrators and coaches in the department, as well as other university offices. Represent the values of the department at all times with external stakeholders such as donors, fans, and media. Know and follow all laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing SFA and its employees, the NCAA and Southland Conference.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in exercise science, or related major, current certification through CSCCa and/or NSCA, Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, Experience in coaching, Acceptance into Master’s program.
