Pepperdine: Pepperdine Sports Performance is seeking applicants for the 2021 Fall Semester Internship Program. Interns will be responsible for weekly presentations to the full-time staff along with weekly educational assignments. Interns will participate in a Division I environment with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience assisting the full-time staff working with student-athletes. The following subject areas will be addressed during your internship: assessing your athletes and pre-session readiness, varying models and methods of periodization and programming, resistance training variables, movement classification, Olympic lifting variables, energy system development, power training, linear speed development, and various other topics. Responsibilities for the internship will include session set up/breakdown, cleaning and upkeep of the facility, and working directly with designated student-athletes. You must be able to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week. Our goal is to have interns advance in the field of strength and conditioning after completing our internship. If you are serious about becoming a Sports Performance coach, this internship will help you develop the necessary tools to advance in the field. Rice: The Rice University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for VOLUNTEER coaches for the Fall 2021 Semester. The internship is scheduled to begin Monday, August 9, 2021 and will run through Friday, December 3, 2021. This is an unpaid position; however, this opportunity offers a valuable professional recommendation for advancement in the field of strength & conditioning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the daily implementation of in-season training for the Rice Football team, set-up and breakdown of daily training sessions, routine maintenance, cleaning and organization of the training facility, data collection, as well as participation in a vigorous internship curriculum. This position also offers a unique opportunity to gain knowledge in performance technology through the use of GPS tracking and force plate monitoring. If selected for the internship, interns will have the opportunity to work on the sidelines during all home games. Syracuse: Syracuse University Department of Athletic Performance for Football is accepting applications for a VOLUNTEER Intern Strength and Conditioning coach position for 2021 Fall camp (Aug. 5) and the Fall semester. This is an UNPAID volunteer position, but academic credits can be applied towards an Exercise Science or related degree program if applicable. The main responsibilities of this position will include: involvement in the supervision of safety during training sessions, assisting with daily administrative, maintenance items, and operations for Football. This position will provide: valuable practical experience working with Division 1 collegiate football student-athletes and coaches, an extensive professional development program, CSCS / SCCC prep, and multiple opportunities to expand network connections within the profession. Qualifications: Seeking a college degree or completion of a Bachelor’s Degree and current CPR certification. Lamar (FCS - TX): Lamar University Strength and Conditioning is currently accepting applications for Volunteer Internship positions for the Fall of 2021. The internship will begin August 1 and end December 14. Qualified candidates will work directly with Football along with various Olympic sport teams as assigned. Our main goal is education through experience. This includes daily coaching opportunities, opportunities to lead small team sessions, continuing education, a comprehensive internship curriculum, expansion of network connections, and daily weight room maintenance. While working with all Division-I athletic programs, interns will gain practical coaching experience in accordance with the philosophy of the department and can begin to lay the groundwork for future opportunities, with a consideration for future employment recommendations.
