Southern Illinois University: SIU-Carbondale is seeking applicants for a Graduate Assistant position with an expected start date of August 2024. Duties include assisting the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach in all aspects of the SIUC strength and conditioning program including but not limited to team warm-ups, strength and speed training, conditioning, flexibility, athlete assessments, support goals and objectives of SIUC athletic program, comply with University, Conference, NCAA Division 1 rules and regulations, work cooperatively with departmental personnel, support the student-athlete concept, and demonstrate concern for health, safety, and welfare of each student athlete. Graduate Assistant will be in charge of 1-2 Olympic sport programs, and will assist with football. Minimum requirements include Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science related field and a strong desire to pursue an Athletic Performance career. Preferred experience as a collegiate athlete, or no less than one academic year of undergraduate/postgraduate internship experience coaching weightlifting at the collegiate level. Must have completed CSCS through the NSCA or SCCC through the CSCCa. Candidate must meet admission requirements of chosen degree. Evidence of strong organizational skills. North Carolina Central University: The Sports Performance Department at North Carolina Central University is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports, communication with coaches, staff and administration. Compensation: Includes full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend. Qualifications: Candidates must be admitted to the Graduate Program at NCCU. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing SCCC, CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW and CPR –First Aid certification. Previous coaching experience at the High School, Collegiate, Professional or Private Sector. Candidates additionally have the option of completing the internship practicum for the CSCCa Examination.
