University of Texas: The University of Texas (Austin) Football Performance Department is accepting applications for 1-2 VOLUNTEER strength and conditioning intern positions for the WINTER/SPRING 2024 Semester. Internship will potentially begin January 10th and continue through May 21st, 2024. QUALIFICATIONS: A strong desire to pursue a career as a strength and conditioning coach; a strong work ethic; punctual; completed or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field; current CPR/AED certification. Preferred: Currently possess or working toward CSCS, SCCC and/or USAW certification; previous internship/coaching experience. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assisting strength coaches in the implementation and supervision of strength and conditioning/sports performance programs; daily weight room maintenance and up keep; and any other duties assigned by the strength and conditioning staff. COMPENSATION: Interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field at the Division-I level, achieve necessary internship/practicum hours for SCCC and/or fulfill school credit if necessary. San Jose State: San Jose State Football Athletic Performance Graduate Assistant position opening. This position will report to the Head of Athletic Performance for Football, having the opportunity to assist with Football and lead (2) Olympic sports. Prior to being considered a candidate for the position, applicants must gain admission into the San Jose State Kinesiology Graduate program. Please note that beyond admission, applicants are expected to maintain a high academic standard while working towards completion of their Master’s Degree in Kinesiology. Additionally, candidates must currently hold (or be able to obtain within 90 days of appointment) certification with the NSCA (CSCS) or the CSCCa (SCCC). The positions are compensated with a full in-state tuition waiver (that value is applied in the form of an increased stipend value for out of state applicants) and $1,800 stipend issued monthly for 10 months. South Alabama: The University of South Alabama Football Athletic Performance Department is now accepting applications for three (3) UNPAID internship positions for the SPRING 2024 Semester (January 8 th – May 2 nd). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the Athletic Performance program for the University of South Alabama Football team, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of other given tasks. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional.
