Valdosta State (D-II - GA): The Valdosta State Athletic Department is accepting applications for a Strength & Conditioning graduate assistant position. Graduate assistant will help promote the Blazers’ 12 NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletic programs. Valdosta State University is a member of the highly competitive Gulf South Conference and won the NCAA Division II National Championship in Football in December of 2018. The Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistants will receive a monthly stipend in addition to tuition remission (not fees). Responsibilities include, but not limited to, design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports, assisting with Football, provide instruction for safe and effective lifting techniques and equipment use. Also track performance, strength progress, and communicate regularly with head coaches and athletic training to collaborate on program design and modifications. All applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in health and human performance related field, and have a strong desire to pursue a career in the strength & conditioning field. Applicants must be CPR, AED and First Aid certified, and MUST BE certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC). Only a certification from either of these two organizations will receive consideration. Appointment contingent on candidate being accepted to the VSU Graduate School in the Exercise Physiology program. Applicant will also have the option to choose a concentration in our new Applied Sports Science program. All graduate assistantships are renewable for two consecutive years (two years total). The 2nd year appointment is contingent upon successful completion of GA duties and responsibilities which includes maintaining a minimum of six graduate credits each semester of assistantship and maintaining at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA. The candidate appointed to the position will receive a yearly stipend of approximately $6000 in addition to a tuition waiver. This person must be willing and able to work daily office hours and nights and weekends throughout the academic school year including vacation periods. Waldorf (NAIA - IA): Waldorf University Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistantship for the Fall 2022-2024 school years. The candidate will receive an online graduate tuition waiver and a $9,000 annual stipend for 12 months and free housing. This is a two year appointment and is not benefit eligible. Graduate assistant will report to the Director of Strength and Conditioning and will be responsible to work directly with all twenty-two varsity sports on campus. Responsibilities assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning will include but are not limited to: The development and implementation of training programs for assigned teams (5-6 teams); Assessment and instruction of posture, lifting technique, multi-directional movement mechanics, flexibility/mobility drills, agility and coordination drills, plyometrics, balance drills, vision training, and testing/assessing modalities; Strength room upkeep, inventory, and equipment maintenance Required Qualifications *Confirmed undergraduate degree in Exercise Science or related field; CSCS (preferred); CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire; Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; Ability to motivate student-athletes and work effectively with coaches and the sport medicine staff; · Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Excel. Emporia State (D-II - KS): Emporia State is looking to hire an assistant athletic director of S&C. The Assistant Athletic Director Strength & Conditioning will be directly responsible for leading the Strength & Conditioning Department at Emporia State University; as well as, directly creating, facilitating, and implementing all Strength & Conditioning activities for Emporia State Football. The Assistant Director Strength & Conditioning will manage all current Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach(es) in the implementation of sport-specific programming as it pertains to all sport programs offered by Emporia State University. This position will oversee all weightroom activities and work with individual head coaches to meet the daily needs of all student athletes. Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field. Three to Five years of related experience at the collegiate or professional level Flexible, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, ability to work a non-standard work week, including evenings, weekends, holidays, summers, and extensive overnight travel. CPR/First-Aid/AED Certification. Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) or Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
