Albany (FCS - NY): The University at Albany Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Summer of 2024. This internship will begin Wednesday June 5th, and will conclude in August of 2024. These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University at Albany Division I Football program, as well as various other sports. Interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a Division I setting, learn to utilize sport technology data for GPS tracking and VBT, as well as assist with daily logistical tasks in the varsity weight room and complete the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Applicants should be working towards holding a certification from a recognized governing body (CSCCa or NSCA). Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and/or personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Eastern Illinois (FCS): Per source, Jacob Hillman has left Eastern Michigan, where he was a graduate assistant, to be the new Director of Football Performance at Eastern Illinois. 

Detroit Mercy: The University of Detroit Mercy is looking to fill a Graduate Assistant position starting the fall semester of 2024. UDM sponsors 15 Division 1 sports, and the Graduate Assistant will be responsible for 2-3 teams as assigned and have the opportunity to assist with men’s and women’s basketball. Additional responsibilities include management of technology and data (VBT, timing gates, etc), facility upkeep, and assisting with the intern education program. Qualified candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, currently hold their CSCS or CSCCa certification, and have experience in collegiate strength and conditioning as an intern or student athlete. COMPENSATION: Full Tuition waiver, On Campus housing and a meal plan, opportunities to work on campus events to earn additional income.
