Angelo State: Angelo State University is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2021 Spring semester. The primary responsibilities of this position are to design and implement efficient and scientific training programs for assigned teams under the approval of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the Strength and Conditioning Staff in all aspects of training for all sports, program administration, working directly with student athletes to teach proper lifting technique, assess and document progress of the student athletes during training, and maintain a clean, sanitized weight room. As a graduate assistant within ASU Athletics, you are expected to maintain professionalism, the Angelo State University graduate assistant minimum GPA of 3.0, and must be working towards a post-baccalaureate degree. All applicants may be subject to a background check. Minimum Qualifications: bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, apply and be accepted into graduate school at ASU, possess or be working towards a nationally accredited certification (SCCC or CSCS), and MUST be CPR/AED certified. Preferred Qualifications: a nationally accredited certification (SCCC, CSCS, USAW), personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and at least one (1) internship in the strength and conditioning field at the collegiate setting. Position includes a tuition waiver and stipend. Saginaw Valley State: Saginaw Valley State University, a DII member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic conference invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Coach for Strength and Conditioning to assist the head coach to develop, promote and supervise all facets of the Strength and Conditioning program; assist the head coach to develop and execute strategies for the physical preparedness of student-athletes for highly visible regional and national competition; assist the head coach to organize and direct all aspects of the Strength and Conditioning programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Nutrition, or similar field. One semester of collegiate strength and conditioning experience in an undergraduate internship or professional internship capacity. Individuals must meet enrollment criteria for admission to an SVSU graduate program of study. CSCS certification by the National Strength and conditioning association upon hiring or attainment within first year of employment. Individuals must be CPR, AED, and First Aid Certified. Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations. Willingness to work nights and weekends. Experience and ability to positively interact with diverse student populations and groups. Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
