South Carolina: The University of South Carolina is accepting applications for a Fall 2020 and/or Spring 2021 internship position that would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the South Carolina Strength and Conditioning Staff with all departmental functions. The internship program contains an academic portion as well as a practical portion involving mentorship in both the art and the science of coaching at the highest level of college football. Required qualifications include a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, consistent and reliable personal conduct, and a strong work ethic. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a nationally accredited association (CSCS, SCCC), previous coaching experience in a collegiate or high school setting, and personal experience as a collegiate athlete. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option, please do not apply. Please indicate which semester is most desirable on the application. Official start dates would be September 27 for Fall applicants and January 4 (tentative) for Spring applicants. Penn State: The Applied Health & Performance Science Department at Penn State University is seeking candidates for an assistant level position within the program. This position will support the goals and directions of the Applied Health & Performance Science department, Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, and all 31 Penn State University Athletic Programs. This position will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Applied Health & Performance Science and will assist in the management of day-to-day operations pertaining to all performance systems. The Assistant for Applied Health & Performance Science must be a self-starter that can actively engage with other members of the university community to find solutions that will optimize performance of Penn State ICA.
