West Virginia: Chris Allen has been announced as the assistant director of strength and conditioning / director of speed. Allen returns to WVU after a season at Indiana as an athletic performance coach.

Washington: The University of Washington Football Strength and Conditioning staff is now accepting internship applications for the 2021 Summer Quarter (June 21 – August 27). These are UNPAID positions, but may provide credit for either undergraduate or graduate coursework. Ideal candidates should be highly motivated, have a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow in the strength and conditioning profession. Candidates must be CPR/AED certified and possess or currently working towards certification through the USAW, NSCA, or CSCCa. Interns will assist in the implementation of all facets of the strength and conditioning program, complete a comprehensive educational curriculum and perform any other duties assigned by the strength and conditioning staff. Yale: Yale Sports Performance is seeking qualified candidates to fill available internship positions for the Summer 2021 semester. This internship includes a classroom lecture component as well as rigorous hours in the weight room alongside full-time coaches for hands on experience. Students will not only gain the knowledge of program design and theory, nutrition, athletic testing, and leadership, but also have the chance to apply what they have learned in a practical setting with Division I athletes. The goal of this internship is to give interns the necessary tools to obtain jobs within the strength and conditioning field. The hours will closely resemble that of a full time strength and conditioning coach. This is an unpaid internship, but hours can be used towards academic credits for college. It is also an NSCA accredited continuing education site. You will receive 2 continuing education units (CEU’s) upon completion. The ideal prospective candidate would be a current or recently graduated college student. Preference will be given to those who have studied Exercise Science, however all professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Additional considerations will be given to those who have an athletic or coaching background, as well as those who are eager to gain experience coaching in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting. Lindenwood University: The Lindenwood University Athletic Performance Department is looking to fill 2-3 Volunteer Athletic Performance Coach positions for Fall 2021. Positions require a 16-week commitment and a minimum of 15 hours per week. These positions are unpaid, but offer experience, education, and an opportunity to fulfill course credits. Upon completion of the 16-week commitment, successful candidates will develop knowledge and experience in all aspects of sport performance development.Anticipated start date will be August 16, 2021. Minimum requirements - First Aid/CPR and AED certified, working towards or has attained Bachelor's Degree, passion to listen, learn, and apply your knowledge. Preferred requirements - working towards or has attained CSCS/SCCC/USAW, playing and/or coaching at the collegiate level, and experience working in a group/team training environment. These positions offer the opportunity to gain hands-on coaching experience with groups/teams along with the possibility of leading groups/teams through workouts if the coach meets the preferred requirements. Stephen F. Austin: The SFA Sports Performance Staff is looking to develop VOLUNTEER interns during our summer session. The internship will start May 31st, 2021 and go through August 14th, 2021. The selected candidates will have the opportunity to take part in a competitive internship that will teach all aspects of working in Sports Performance at the Division I level. The curriculum will include working hands on with our DI athletes across all 16 Varsity Sports as well as weight room management, administrative duties, and professional development. Possible opportunities that can be earned by our interns include leading training sessions, programming team lifts, paid professional development, and advancement within the profession. Qualified applicants will have obtained or be working towards a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, as well as possess or be working towards their CSCS or CSCCa certification. Murray State: The Murray State Basketball Strength and Conditioning Department is looking to fill 1-2 positions for its summer 2021 volunteer internship. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the MSU Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the summer program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and other duties as assigned. In this role, you will gain valuable experience working within the Murray state basketball program, working directly with the Strength and Conditioning staff and players. Required qualifications include the completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a CPR/AED certification, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and a strong work ethic. Other preferred qualifications include certification, or the pursuit of a certification from the NSCA and/or the CSCCA and previous coaching experience. The tentative start date is June 1st, 2021. The internship will be completed before the beginning of fall semester with the potential of retention through the 2021-22 basketball season.
