Northern Illinois: Northern Illinois University Sports Performance department is seeking six interns for Summer 2021 (expected start date: June 1st β€“ July 31st). This volunteer position offers Division 1 experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength of conditioning. Responsibilities will include: Assist the Sports Performance staff in the supervision and training of student-athletes, cleaning, and maintenance of facilities, assist in the set-up and break-down of training sessions; and participate in weekly assignments for the duration of the internship. Qualifications: Be in pursuit of an undergraduate/ graduate degree in exercise science or related field. Certified in CPR/First Aid. Have a desire to be a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing CSCCa-SCCC and/or NSCA-CSCS certification. Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work varied hours. Compensation: This is an unpaid volunteer position. You will receive experience and will be given an opportunity to grow and learn in the field of Collegiate Strength and Conditioning. Northwestern State: Northwestern State University is looking for Summer interns to work with our strength and conditioning team. We are looking to hire 3-4 professionals who are highly motivated and passionate about developing athletes. This is an UNPAID position for the entirety of the internship with no other benefits (i.e housing, meals, etc). Interns will be provided with opportunities to grow, and have hands on coaching experience in a Division 1 football program. This internship will provide professional development, an internship curriculum, and multiple opportunities to expand your coaching network. The main responsibilities of this position include: hands on coaching of multiple sports teams at Northwestern State University, supervision of safety in the weight room and on field activities, assisting with daily administrative/ maintenance duties, setup/cleanup of the weight room. Preferred qualifications: Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in an exercise related field and CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certified. Must be First Aid/CPR/AED certified. This internship is set to run from early-June through late July. The exact start and end dates are to be determined. If this internship is not economically feasible for you then please do not apply. Wright State: Wright State University is seeking two (2) volunteer Strength and Conditioning interns for the fall of 2021. This is an UNPAID position. Accepted applicants will receive practical hands-on experience in strength and conditioning at the Division 1 level, as well as class credit (if applicable), and the opportunity to participate in the intern education curriculum. Required qualifications: First Aid/CPR/AED training, the desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, a strong work ethic, the ability to commit to AT LEAST 20 hours per week, and effective communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications: CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification, or in the process of obtaining any or all of the aforementioned certifications, and previous coaching experience. Responsibilities: Assist full time coaches in implementing programs, set up and break down of training sessions, weight room maintenance and upkeep, intern curriculum assignments and projects, and any other tasks or projects assigned by staff as they arise. Harding University: Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas is accepting applications for 2 Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coaches for Fall 2021. Report date will be in August 2021. The successful candidate will have full responsibility of 2-4 teams, assist with the implementation of performance programs for other teams as needed, and have supervision and direction of student interns. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to complete the CSCCa mentorship program and be eligible to sit for the SCCC certification exam during their 2nd year (2022). Applicants are highly encouraged to look into the M.S. in Strength & Conditioning program before applying. Qualifications: Acceptance into the M.S. in Strength & Conditioning program at Harding University; Intern experience in a S&C setting; CSCCa-SCCC and/or NSCA-CSCS certification(s); Certified in CPR/First Aid; Candidate must be able to devote at least 20 hours per week to S&C responsibilities. Compensation: A tuition credit is provided. Opportunities for additional supplementary income may be available.
