Sources: Multiple HBCUs in deep discussions with NCAA DII national championship game coach (prairie view a&M)

Across the past two seasons, Tremaine Jackson has guided storied NCAA Division II program Valdosta State (Georgia) to 25 wins, with a chance for one more in today's ongoing national championship bout against Ferris State.

Now, Jackson is being pursued by a pair of HBCU programs at the next level of college football, numerous sources tell FootballScoop.

Several sources have told FootballScoop in recent days that Jackson is expected to be offered the Prairie View A&M job, a chance to lead his first-ever Football Championship Subdivision program.

However, additional sources have told FootballScoop in recent days that Jackson has been a target in Alabama A&M's ongoing search for its next head coach.

Prairiew View A&M is expected to formally offer Jackson its job as soon as today.

A former University of Houston player, Jackson won 10 of 13 games in his brief stint as Colorado Mesa's head coach before he landed at Valdosta State prior to the 2022 season.

After one losing campaign, Jackson proceeded to guide Valdosta State to last year's NCAA Division II quarterfinals and all the way into today's title clash against perennial power Ferris State.
