Jerry Mack's assembled a coaching staff before, and he's won a conference championship.
So, it's no surprise that Mack is working to assemble a strong inaugural staff atop the Kennesaw State program.
Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Mack is plucking Kyle Blocker away from Chuck Martin's Miami (Ohio) RedHawks to serve as Kennesaw State's special teams coordinator.
Mack and Blocker previously worked together at the University of Tennessee, where Mack left after the 2023 season to take over the running backs room for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars and Blocker departed to take over as Miami's special teams coordinator.
In addition to overseeing special teams for Mack and the Owls, Blocker also will coach tight ends.
A Missouri grad, Blocker has worked on staffs at his alma mater, North Texas, Tennessee and Missouri State prior to his role overseeing Miami's special teams.
The RedHawks overcame a slow start to the season to face Ohio last weekend in the MAC Championship.
