Pete Carroll reportedly signs extension with Seattle Seahawks (contracts)

Pete Carroll signed a multiyear contract extension to remain with the Seattle Seahawks, Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal will likely carry Carroll through the end of his career. Schefter reported the coach is now under contract through the 2025 campaign, taking him past his 74th birthday.

Though he doesn't act like it, Carroll is the NFL's oldest active head coach.

The most successful head coach in Seahawks history, Carroll has led the club to a 106-60-1 record with two NFC championships and the team's only Super Bowl title. The team has made the playoffs in eight of his 10 full seasons and owned a winning record in nine.

Seattle enters Sunday at 6-1 and on track for the top seed in the NFC playoffs.
