Make it five now. And counting.
Following similar efforts from parent groups at Iowa, Ohio State and Nebraska, parents of Michigan and Penn State football players have now sent their own letters to the Big Ten office asking for answers.
As I wrote before, people are disappointed and heartbroken that the Big Ten canceled its fall football season so soon; they're angry that the Big Ten did it without a clear explanation.
Since we last wrote on the topic, Penn State and Michigan's letters have gone public, Michigan's being the latest.
All groups are asking for the same moves:
-- A reinstatement of the season
-- A Zoom meeting with conference leadership explaining the rationale for the decision
-- Detailed explanation from the conference in regards to what comes next, particularly in regards to scholarship numbers
These efforts run parallel to Justin Fields's Move On petition, which surpassed its stated goal of 200,000 signatures in its first 12 hours.
We are truly in unprecedented times -- a fall without football in Big Ten country, and key Big Ten stake holders in open rebellion against what had previously been college football's most buttoned-up conference.
