Mark Stoops sidesteps questions about Texas A&M opening (Texas A&M Football)

If this was Mark Stoops's 137th and final game as Kentucky's head coach, it was a heckuva way to go out. Kentucky upset No. 9 Louisville 38-31 on the road, the highest-ranked of 73 wins to date in the Stoops regime.

With Texas A&M's regular season now complete, A&M AD Ross Bjork is now on the clock, and Stoops's has been linked to the opening in College Station.

Asked to address the speculation -- and/or affirm he'll be back for a 12th season on the bluegrass in 2024 -- Stoops declined.

“This is a big win for our program and state," he said. "I’m keeping the focus and concentration on our team.”

Bjork has set Dec. 4 as a soft deadline for A&M to have its next head coach, but the hire will likely be complete sooner than that. In the meantime, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.
