Scott Power has been reportedly been fired as Louisiana Tech's defensive coordinator.
Brandon Marcello initially reported the move. Sources have confirmed Power's dismissal to FootballScoop.
Louisiana Tech is currently 3-9 and ranks 118th nationally in scoring defense, allowing over 33 points per game.
Power joined Sonny Cumbie's staff heading into the 2022 season and oversaw a defense that ranked among the top 25 nationally in defensive touchdowns, fumbles recovered, and turnovers gained.
This year, on the turnover front, has been a much different story.
Louisiana Tech's defense ranks 123rd nationally with just 9 forced turnovers. They're one of just 11 teams stuck in single digits on the year.
Powers arrived in Ruston after three seasons as the defensive coordinator at Stephen F. Austin (FCS), where he was an integral piece in signing three of FCS's top classes and led an impressive turnaround on the defensive side of the ball.
He also led a top-10 defense in Division II football while the defensive coordinator at Texas A&M Commerce, and also has prior stops as an assistant or coordinator at Central Washington, Marian (NAIA - IN), and Wartburg (D-III - OH).
