New Research - How Two Programs Are Solving Backside Issues in Wide Zone: You can’t make a living on wide zone runs without consistently handling the backside edge. While nakeds and slice concepts can only get you so far, defenses will eventually adapt by pushing second-level backers to fit run-throughs and chase down ball carriers. X&O Labs' Mike Kuchar studied how two programs treat outside zone like inside zone by building backside tags to handle these issues. William and Mary have gone wholesale into using triple option principles on the backside while UCONN has implemented quick game concepts like snag and smash to manipulate flat defenders. Both have generated explosives for the quarterback on pull reads when flat defenders get stretched. Read more (watch game film).

Silver Creek (CO): Per source, Jeremy Mercer has been named the new head at Silver Creek HS. Mercer has spent the past several seasons as the offensive coordinator at Fountain-Fort Carson HS (CO).

Glynn Academy (GA): Glynn Academy, a 5A public school located one hour from both Savannah and Jacksonville, is accepting resumes for varsity position coaches for the 2024-2025 school year. In anticipation of an opening on staff, priority will be given to individuals with experience coaching quarterbacks. As of now, all areas of certification are expected, including elementary or middle school Health/PE. Lake Buena Vista (FL): Lake Buena Vista (FL): Lake Buena Vista High School in Lake Buena Vista, FL is looking to fill multiple coaching positions on our staff. We return a loaded young roster with starting experience, and our first winning season in program history. On OFFENSE, we are wanting to hire a WR and RB Coach. On DEFENSE, we are hiring all positions and a Defensive Coordinator. We also have JV positions available. Looking for the best coaches possible and good people who are willing to go above and beyond for the right reasons. We are also looking for coaches who are highly motivated to make a year-round commitment to use the sport of football to mentor young men. Candidates should have coaching and/or playing experience at the high school and/or college level. Coaching candidates should be hard-working, energetic, and all-in on building a program that gives kids a great athletic experience. Duties include, but are not limited to coaching specific position groups, off-season training, daily off-field and game day responsibilities. We have a motivated administration that wants a winning program. Teaching positions should be available in Math, English, Science, and possibly Social Studies next school year.
