Each week, every head coach in the American, Conference USA, MAC, Mountain West and Sun Belt has the opportunity to vote his belief on the best teams among the Group of 5.
With Nos. 1 and 4, the Mountain West is well represented at the top of this week's Coaches Poll. The American is right there with them, represented by numbers No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 7. Buckle up, this is going to be a race to the top.
Every week is a battle; but a lot of G5 eyes are on the weekend of October 25th and 26th when No. 1 Boise State plays at UNLV Friday night and No. 2 Navy plays Notre Dame Saturday.
Notably climbing but somehow ranked below No. 8 James Madison, whom they beat, UL Monroe is No. 11 this week in the Coaches Poll. Bryant Vincent's team's only loss this season came in Austin, Texas at the hands of Steve Sarkisian's AP No. 1-ranked squad.
During the season, coaches voting will remain anonymous.
