The past several months have seen players band together and unite to have their voices heard on everything from COVID concerns to racial issues. Their united movement has been really powerful and has materialized into messages that are impossible to ignore.
Over the weekend, Power 5 players across the country united under the hashtag #WeWantToPlay in their push to ensure a fall season.
With football this fall seeming more and more unlikely by the day, parents at the college and high school levels are also uniting to make sure their voice is heard loud and clear as well.
As the weekend started, Michigan parents - and more specifically mothers in The Mitten State took to social media to voice their support of moving forward with football in the fall as official practices were set to take place August 10th.
The reasons from the moms were numerous, as some pulled at the heartstrings while others took a more humorous approach, but they clearly all stood united in their support of their sons taking the field this fall as they chose the hashtag #moms4football and #letthemplay to get their point across.
Even the wife of the director of Michigan's state association, who has a son that will be senior, weighed in with a simple statement hoping they're able to move forward as her husband (Mark Uyl) has been working hard to ensure happens without government stepping in and shutting that plan down like we saw happen in Pennsylvania last week.
Then, following word that the Big Ten may be getting close to pulling the plug on a fall season and shifting their focus to the spring, the head of parents associations at Ohio State and Penn State each respectively put out statements to make sure their stance was heard as well. Whether it's high school, or college football, the outlook for a fall season isn't looking especially bright, but in a time where we are divided by so many other issues, it sure does feel good to see people pulling together in a common direction for once.
