Cody Cejda, Northwestern's director of football operations and strategy, has accepted a position working with Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley.
Bruce Feldman first shared the news publicly which we can confirm is accurate.
Source tells FootballScoop Cejda will serve in a special assistant to the head coach role. Feldman adds he is expected to oversee analytics as part of his role.
For years Cejda served as Pat Fitzgerald's director of football operations, overseeing financial activities for the program. In that role he planned and executed travel & logistics for the team, marketing, communications, worked on contracts, served as the NFL liaison and largely served as Fitz' administrative partner.
Recently, Fitz added the "and strategy" part to Cejda's role, giving him more of a role with game planning and program execution.
In Los Angeles we would expect him to focus less on administrative duties and more on the football planning part of the job.
We'll share more on this one in the coming weeks.
